Mission Statement

We at Chedworth Pre-School, are a community based term-time only pre-school, we welcome children and their families to a fun and friendly environment where we prioritise personal knowledge of the children. Our fabulous outdoor space and proximity to our village primary school in the beautiful rural Cotswold’s, makes us a special place where children thrive.

We make the most of our resource through Forest School learning and links with the excellent local primary school. We are a well-qualified, cohesive team who constantly guide, observe and support children to follow their interests and curiosity in both indoor and outdoor learning environments. We want our children to feel good about themselves and have the freedom to express their thoughts.

We believe in diversity and that every child is special and unique. We love to see smiling faces when children achieve new skills and are rewarded with inquisitive faces when our children embrace new activities to explore and extend their learning. Through these values, we hope that our children are prepared in the best possible way for a seamless transition to primary school.

Government Help

We accept government funding for up to 30 hours. This can be shared with another setting. The Government offers up to 15 hours of free childcare per child a week, from the term after a child turns three. This is a universal benefit. We also accept applications for 2+ government funding and 30 hours funding for 3 year olds. We are delighted to help talk through this process; please do get in contact.

Our Fees

Prior to the start of the funding, and for attendance over the 15 funded hours, we charge £5.50 per hour. We also charge an initial enrolment fee of £25 as a contribution towards our administration costs.

Breakfast Club

We can offer breakfast between 8:00am and 8:30am each morning and this includes porridge, healthy cereals, breads and spreads, fruit and milk.

Hot Lunch

If you would like your child to have a hot lunch we can offer this for £2.84 (choice of 3 meals each day), including a main meal with vegetables, daily fruit platter, yoghurt, pudding. This is provided by ‘Caterlink’, prepared at Northleach school and delivered hot to Pre-School on the way to St.Andrew’s Primary School, Chedworth.

We are very happy to accept childcare vouchers and are established with a number of schemes.

Our fees are reviewed annually.

Opening Times & Term Dates

We follow the normal school calendar; opening during term-time and open 5 days a week.

We are open from 8.00 – 5.00pm Monday to Friday, including breakfast club (8.00 – 8.30am). Running alongside this is the after-school care for St Andrews Primary School from 3.00-5.00pm.

Once a week we take the children in their Pre-school year for a transition session with St. Andrews Primary school, Chedworth. We also offer Tennis lessons weekly for our Pre-School Children.

Our timings are:
Monday to Friday
8.00 am – 8.30 am Breakfast Club
8.45 am – 5.00pm Pre-School sessions
3.00 pm – 5.00pm St Andrews Primary
School children join us for after-school care

Our term dates are in line with St. Andrew’s Primary School and subject to change.
